York Pediatric Psychology offers comprehensive psychological assessments of children and adolescents to help identify cognitive and learning disabilities, emotional and behavioural challenges, as well as social/interpersonal issues. Psycho-educational assessments are recommended when parents and/or schools suspect a child is experiencing difficulties in achievement, having learning challenges or ADHD, is gifted, or may be experiencing social, emotional issues that may interfere with school or family functioning.
An assessment provides parents with important information about their child's cognitive and intellectual functioning, which helps parents and teachers find ways to support their child's learning. All children learn differently, and psycho-educational assessments help identify strengths and talents that may be less obvious in a traditional school setting, as well as in areas of learning that may be more challenging.
For more information on the process, scheduling, and fees for psycho-educational assessments, please call York Pediatric Psychology at (905) 830-2446 or email drperry@yorkpediatricpsychology.ca.
Consultation services are also available to local community health agencies, family health teams, hospitals, School Boards, and provincial sporting agencies. These services may include program evaluation, treatment planning, policy development, and supervision.
Supervision services are available to those pursuing registration with the College of Psychologists. Please contact Dr. Perry at York Pediatric Psychology for more information.
